1. The membership of the current elected members of the Performance Review and Staff Development (PRSD) Appeals Panel will expire on September 18, 2016 (Existing Membership of the Panel (document 186/816) at http://intraweb.hku.hk/local/hr/ann16/186-816.pdf). I now write to invite nominations for election to membership of category (c) of the Panel under paragraph 8 of the “Procedures for Appeal Against the Outcome of the PRSD” (http://intraweb.hku.hk/local/hr/ann13/345-913.pdf):

“…….. up to 5 persons to be elected by eligible non-academic staff members from departments/units/centres outside a Faculty structure from amongst eligible non-academic staff members of those departments/centres/units.”

2. Elections for the above seats will be held in accordance with the Council’s “Regulations and Procedures for Casting of Votes by Personal Ballot in the Election to the Chairmanship of the Board of a Faculty, and to Certain Categories of Membership of the Council, the Senate and the Boards of the Faculties” (document 363/1003, http://www.gs.hku.hk/3631003.pdf). 3. I now enclose

(a) a schedule regarding the nomination and election processes (document 194/816, http://intraweb.hku.hk/local/hr/ann16/194-816.pdf); and

(b) a Nomination Form (document 195/816, http://intraweb.hku.hk/local/hr/ann16/195-816.pdf ).

4. Each nomination shall be signed by a proposer, a seconder (who must also be an eligible elector) and by the nominee giving consent to be nominated. If a nominee is not in Hong Kong at the time of being nominated, the proposer and the seconder shall obtain his or her written, cabled or faxed consent and return it together with the Nomination Form (document 195/816) to the Director of Human Resources.

5. Election results will be announced as soon as possible after September 21, 2016.
